Are high schools preparing students for college?

This second section evaluates whether high schools are successfully preparing students for college, and roughly three-quarters of residents say they are. Here, the relationships to demographics are stronger and roughly correlated with overall perceptions of educational quality. Though it depends on how the question is asked, ratings of how well high school is preparing students for college are generally positively related to age, education and income. Unfortunately, these views also show the same kinds of racial disparities, with whites evaluating high schools significantly more positively than blacks.
