Ranking of Amenities by Demographic Group:
Top Three Choices

This alternate visualization of the same data makes it easier to see how different demographic groups rank their choices for additional amenities or services. For example, while residents 25-44 years old rank mass transit first as the amenity they would like to see more of, young adults 18-24 rank it sixth, perhaps because they are more likely to live in areas where transit service is already high. A similar story can be told with respect to race, where whites rank mass transit first but blacks and Hispanics and Asians rank it sixth. Those with college degrees rank transit highest among the amenities they want to see more of, while city parks is ranked highest among those without a degree.
