Ranking Community Issues by Group

This alternate visualization of the same data that makes it easier to see how different demographic groups rank each community issue based on impact to their quality of life. For example, broken down by age, crime is ranked first in importance for residents 18-34 years old, second for those 35-64 years old, and fourth for those 65 and over. Meanwhile education and public schools are the most important issue for those 35-44 and for women, while it is ranked sixth for those 25-34, 65 and over, and for men. The economy is the most important issue for residents 45-54 years of age and for the self-employed. It is second-most important for men. By contrast, the economy ranks 7th in importance for women and is only 11th for those 18-24 years old, most likely because many are still in school.
