2019 Report

Quality of Education in Your Community

Higher educational institutions are rated the highest by area residents, with 64 percent saying they are good or excellent. This is followed by elementary schools (63 percent), high schools (59 percent) and middle schools (56 percent). These ratings tend to increase with residents' age, education and income, while they tend to decrease for minorities.

Less than half of residents give good or excellent ratings to after-school programs, less than a third to daycare quality and less than a fifth to daycare affordability. In part this is because nearly a third of residents say they don't know enough to provide a rating of after-school programs and close to half say the same about daycare programs.
